Motherhood & Fitness

Here at Studio 14, we’ve decided to tackle the challenges new mums face when it comes to maintaining an active lifestyle after entering the world of motherhood.

While having a healthy fitness routine before pregnancy was largely dependent on self-motivation, the transition to motherhood brings its fair share of unexpected challenges.

It goes without saying that being a new mum changes your perspective; the needs of your newborn are now your top priority. This radical change also makes it difficult to plan in advance. In the early stages of adapting to motherhood, your schedule is unpredictable; the lack of sleep coupled with fatigue makes it extremely challenging to adjust to your new life and function at your best.

We all know that post-workout feeling – it’s satisfying, rewarding, and motivating. Physical activity is a natural remedy for depression. It’s crucial to apply this on a regular basis, especially during the postpartum period. Don’t forget, mums, you’re not just caring for your body – you’re also nurturing your mind!

It’s important and highly beneficial for mothers to maintain their physical wellness without compromising on time spent with their babies. Something as simple as a morning walk after breakfast is a great way to jumpstart your day. Fitness classes where you and your baby can work out together 2-3 times a week, along with surrounding yourself with like-minded mums who want to incorporate fitness into their lives, can be extremely beneficial.

Studio 14 is all about that! Our boutique fitness studio offers pre & post-natal yoga and pilates, as well as Fit Mums classes where mothers and their babies can work out together. Our classes are small, with a maximum of six participants, and create a joyful, intimate atmosphere while providing an effective workout. Our class instructors are highly qualified in pre & post-natal fitness, offering unbeatable training programs. The Himalayan salt wall is one of our favourite features in the workout room; it doesn’t just look beautiful and serene, but also offers great health benefits for you and your baby.
